ApprovedbyChongqingMunicipalEducationCommission,ChongqingNanfangTranslatorsCollege（CNTC）underSichuanInternationalStudiesUniversity（SISU）,wasjointlysetupinNovember2001bySISUandChongqingSouthGroupCo.,Ltdandisentitledtocarryoutthestateenrolmentplanofgeneralhighereducationasanindependentcollegewithunder-graduateprograms,confirmedbyChinaMinistryofEducation.CNTC,adjacenttoJiangbeiInternationalAirportofChongqing,haseasytrafficwithhighwaysandexpresswaysleadingtothecityproper15kilometersawayandenjoysfreshairinthequietandbeautifulenvironment.

CNTChasabroadscaledesignandagreatsumofplannedinvestment,coveringanareaof66.9hectareslargeenoughfor20,000students,butonlywithapresentstudentpopulationof12,000.Thegrossfloorsareaofthecampusismorethan300,000squaremeters,inwhich160,000squaremetersareusedforteachingandadministrationpurposeand120,000squaremetersforstudentdorms,24,000squaremetersforastandardtrackandfieldsportsgroundand17,000squaremetersforalibrary.Thecollegehassetupacomprehensiveinformationcampusweb,havingrealizedofficeautomation,multi-mediateachingandInternetinformation.

CNTChasastrongbattalionofbestandexperiencedteachers,old,middle-agedandyoung,includingadozenofforeignteachers,whoarequalifiedinteachingandresearchwork.Asuperintend-and-directgroupcomposedofnotedexpertshasbeenorganizedtodirectandsuperviseteachingwork.Thequalifiedadministrationandlogisticworkofferfirst-classservicetotheteachersandstudents.

Therearenow,inCNTCninedepartments:TranslationStudies,Business,Management,Tourism,Asian-EuropeanLanguages,InternationalBusiness,ArtsandBasicCourses,Moderneducationaltechnicalcentre,offeringfortyspecialtiesandorientations:English,Japanese,German,InternationalNews,InternationalEconomics&Trade,ProjectManagement,Airservice,Advertisement,ManagementandPriceEstimationofRealEstate,AutomobileTechnicalServiceandMarketing,ArtDesign,ResearchofFineArtsandMusicPerformance.Apartformallthese,CNTChasbegunrunningEnglishandLawclassesofundergraduateprogramsforself-taughtstudents,hencetheModelofTeach–yourselfExamination（ForeignLanguagesandLiteratures）and"OnboardserviceandTourismArts"inChongqingHigherEducation.Atpresent,thereareabout12,000regularstudentsatCNTCfrom30provinces,citiesorautonomousregions.

Withthecompetentstaffmembersinteachingandresearchwork,bymakingfulluseofthefirst-classmodernizedteachingfacilities,CNTCisstrivingtocultivatemorequalifiedandversatilestudents,whohaveagoodcommandofforeignLanguages,getthemasteryofspecialtiesandlaystressonpracticalwork.ThosewhohavefinishedstudyingthecoursesrequiredbyCNTCandobtainedtherequiredcredits,willgettheGraduationCertificateofCNTC,printedbyChinaMinistryofEducation.Accordingtorelevantregulationsofthestate,studentswhoentertheindependentcollegeafterAutumnof2008willobtaintheCertificateofB.Aissuedbythatindependentcollegeiftheymeetalltherequirementsoffour-yearprogramgraduates.ForstudentswhoenteredtheindependentcollegepreAutumnof2008shallbesubjecttotheprincipleof"Oldstudentsfollowtheoldmethod",i.e.;toobtaintheirCertificateofB.AissuedbySISUafterapplicationaspertheregulationsconcerned.
