　　学校建立了完善的奖优、助学体系，建立了以学校拨给、企业赞助、师生捐款为经费来源的“阳光工程基金”，2003～2004年共减免学费54万余元，支付贫困学生生活补助费用8万余元，奖励各年级优秀学生（1000元~6000元）40余万元。

　　A Brief Introduction to Jiangsu Xinhai Senior High School
　　Jiangsu Xinhai Senior High School lies in the beautiful harbor city of Lianyungang. It lies to the east of the Flower-Fruit Mountain (Monkey king’s birthplace) along the west of the Yanhe River, to the south of the city administration and the north of Huhai College. It is at a good place geographically, and the cultural atmosphere is rich here. The school covers an area of 283 acres and has a good view. The area of the dormitory is 80,000 square metres. Trees and flowers have grown everywhere in the school yard with an area of 18,000 square metres.
　　The school has a history of 60 years. It is one of the 18 earliest key schools in Jiangsu province and the first nation demonstration schools. Now there are 75 teaching classes with more than 4,100 students and a teaching staff of 339. It was trained over 30,000 graduates who have studied and worked at home and abroad. Among them there are many outstanding characters.
　　At present we have a special program using two foreign experts from New Zealand, teaching English language studies at level one. We are keen to retain and expand this program in future. Their speciality is teaching styles of English, e.g. Genre writing.
